Equipment - Canterra CT 450 Air and Mud Rotary Rig

The Canterra is a large multi-capable rig with factory built options specifically engineered for geotechnical and environmental applications. Typically, rigs of this size category that are utilized for environmental or geotechnical work are water well rigs that have been modified for this type application, however this unit was purpose built for not only production water well work but also for monitoring well, soil test borings, and use of various sampling methods. Typical projects have included: 2" to 8" diameter wells for monitoring, extraction, injection, dewatering, and instrumentation purposes to depths ranging from 20 to 600 feet, soil test borings 6" to 10" diameter for soil, water, or vapor sampling purposes. Also, commercial production water wells have been successfully installed in borings up to 28" diameter with pump rates up to 2000 gpm.

Onboard equipment and features include: rod rack with 400' capacity, automatic 140lb. sampling hammer, 850cfm x 350psi compressor, coalescing and charcoal air filtration system which pre-filters all compressor discharge air, pressure washer, 25,000 lb-ft high torque drive head for auger drilling, high speed coring option, automatic rod loader, rod spinner, hydraulic break out wrench, water injection system. Support equipment includes 5 1/2 x 8 GD duplex mud pump, solids removal trailer with desanding cones, shale shaker, mud mixing station, and 700 gallon holding tank.
